Competitive Gymnastics

We are incredibly proud of our men's and women's competitive programs, with gymnasts competing at a local, national and international level.

All competitive programs are year long programs (starting with Term 4), and are by invitation only.  For more information,  email us at info@kapitigymnastics.co.nz

Women's Artistic Gymnastics  (WAG) - STEPs & EXCEL

We offer both the National STEPs competitive program and the EXCEL competitive program.

  • The STEPs program is the Gymnastics New Zealand national women's artistic program, designed to develop very technical and specific progressions from beginning competitive through high performance.    The requirements at each level  are quite strict, and demand a fairly high level of commitment.   Gymnasts in our STEPs program train 3 to 6 days per week.
    • Elementary Levels (Steps 1-4)
    • Junior Levels (Step 5-6)
    • Senior Levels (Steps 7-10 & International)

  • The  EXCEL competitive program allows gymnasts to compete the same progressions from beginning through high level skills that the STEPs program does, but allows for flexibility and substitution at each level.  As a result, it can be done on a two-day a week commitment, with shorter training sessions, and allows for gymnasts to progress at different rates on different apparatus.

Our STEPs and EXCEL competitive pathways are coordinated.  Gymnasts can move between programmes each year as best suits them and their gymnastics development, interest, and commitment.

Men's Artistic Gymnastics  (MAG) - LEVELS

We offer the National LEVELs competitive programme.

  • The Levels program is the Gymnastics New Zealand national men's artistic program, designed to develop very technical and specific progressions from beginning competitive through high performance.    The requirements at each level  are quite strict, and demand a fairly high level of commitment.   Gymnasts in our Levels program train 3 to 6 days per week.
    • Elementary (Levels 1-3)
    • Junior (Levels 4-6)
    • Senior (Levels 7-9 and International)
